Should you go local for web design and SEO training

We fairly often get asked whether it's best to go for a local agency that's 'nearby' or whether we would regard it more worthwhile to think about engaging the giant firms in the 'city'. Actually it seems on the outside that a large company with a big portfolio would be in a position to offer a lot more in the way of services, but do you lose something in the way of customer service?

The trouble is, there's absolutely no way of judging whether a company does offer great service or not and simply looking at their internet site gives no answers either. A website, by its very nature, is there to fox you - it's not a window on to a company, it is a technique by which that company can promote itself in the best possible light. If this implies they stretch the truth a little bit then so be it, but it is, in reality, a fantasy.

Some people are savvy to this and they thus see past a website and look for other indicators that the company may be able to offer the services they require. The size of the office may be another factor - and it often means development will be expensive, but does it mean it'll be any good?

sadly there actually isn't any way to know for sure. Site design is so subjective that what's a wonderful site to one person may be totally awful to somebody else - unless you can nail down a monetary value, everything else is purposeless.

Local = a little more control

Here is where the discussion for staying local truly wins out though. There is a psychological barrier between corporations when they're locked away in ivory towers or sitting in the middle of a busy ring-road and this leads to Problems. By some way the best way to handle a customer relationship is with steady updates and continual communication and this can be jeapordised when working with giant corporations who are at the other end of the company.

For all the PR of remote working, virtual conferencing and other technology, nothing quite beats getting in front of the client and dealing direct.

The answer?

Unfortunately, there is not one. You simply have to decide yourself as to if your company can deal effectively remotely or whether you are the type of company that desires to chat eyeball to eyeball with your supplier. Only then can you choose whether you must select the local independent or plump for the suited city type.

Andy Calloway is the director of SEO Services at Calloway Green Ltd, a Wolverhampton web design and SEO consultancy in the West Midlands, UK.
SEO training - boost your ranking whilst reducing costs.

Search site optimisation is a massive subject and many firms are not incredibly wary about starting a campaign given the shock stories. A lot of businesses I talk to are fearful of starting because they beleive that if they do anything wrong - they could basically end up destroying their ranking. Thing is, they could be right.

I hear folk who say that they can 'hide' text on a page in order to 'even out' the keyword saturation on their page. They do this so that their 'keywords' appear the proper number of times.

They also create duplicate pages with some modified words to enable them to plug their site in other areas. Even more will create pages that only Google will see to present them with additional important keywords.

Oh dear. What ends up happening is that they get prohibited from Google for doing something that actually will not help their rankings anyway - they miss the point and that point is reasonably straightforward - your on page content is probably the least of your Problems.

All the content in the world will not make your website go number one. If you have thousands of pages and no links then you may doubtless find your site won't be found. I can beat it with one page and a couple of hundred links, you see the point is, Google thinks you have a great site if its got tons of links going to it. It does this because many links means you have plenty of recognition.

Recognition means you are potentially topical and Google loves relevance.

If you're really interested in getting found without spending a fortune then you should consider SEO Training for your business and you should consider it now - it's getting harder the longer you leave it, so do it now!

Check out our SEO Web Design page on Facebook

SEO training - boost your ranking whilst reducing costs.

http://www.pamshouseblend.com/userDiary.do?personId=28056
http://www.ted.com/profiles/view/id/344076
http://www.the-scientist.com/community/user/edit/43561.page
http://www.ehow.com/members/tintofrabber.html?view=3rd
Reasons Why Print Audits are Necessary.

There are numerous reasons why Print Audits are critical to guarantee your business is running as efficiently as possible. Using the incorrect gear can cost you time and money. Neither of which any business can afford to waste. A print audit needs to be done frequently, ideally each time, staffing or work techniques change, and if this does not apply every six months. That way you can always be confident the office or departments are working to full potency and capacity.

1. Reduce company costs.

Dated and wasteful machines can be costing your company a large amount of time and money. By streamlining and standardising gear a great amount of money can be saved. Modern copiers are faster, more energy efficient, and have multifunction options so that print, e-mail, copy etc can be done all on one machine. By selecting machines with many functions that can be networked to a number of PCs an office can run on much less, cost effective machines.

2. Saving the environment

there's a lot of pressure put on businesses today to reduce documentation and lower the impact that's made on the environment as the results of the running of the office or other business grounds. By making audits, you can analyse the number of copies made, and decide whether this may be reduced. Print records per user can be kept to prevent uneccessary copies being made.

3. Better Documents

When a company is aware of the print workload it means money can be saved on the most efficient machines and reduced unwanted copies. As a consequence of this, the cash saved can be spent on higher quality results or spending money incorporating colour on documents. It's been claimed that use of color can increase ease of reading by 80%, reduce blunders by 80% and increase brand retention by seventy pc.

4. More usable time

Multifunction copiers instantly copy, sort, punch, staple or bind documents. This suggests staff can get on with other things that are way more productive and are earning the company money.

5. Improve Security

Many new machines are linked and can be password or fingerprint protected. This adds security as only appointed staff can have access to these machines.

Photocopier leasing options for your business.

Photocopiers for your business to keep costs down on paper copying.

http://bleacherreport.com/users/164581-dietrich-enriquez
http://www.mrqe.com/users/46830
http://geeklife.com/members/jerryfringer.aspx
http://www.arthousecoop.com/users/jerryfringer
Web Design Birmingham - Marketing Options

For years now the search website posse has been pushing the idea that we should all publish lots of data and get folks reading our blogs and social networking pages and everything else we deem crucial to push upon a unsuspecting world.

Turns out we're inaccurate.

Turns out that even though we've been pushing these techniques of marketing, they are only good for one thing - inflating your Google rankings. You see, it doesn't matter how many blogs you write, the people that matter don't care. They don't care about you, me or anything else. They still read the paper and watch the news ; they're not reading blogs.

That leaves us in a bit of a quandary - what's the point of blogging if nobody is going to read them? Well, there's still some point to it I suspect, but it is's not for people - it's for search engines.

Search engines love blogs because they are rich with content and keywords. If anything is going to tell a robot what it is you do, it will be a well-crafted blog loaded with keywords, big meta tags and bolded critical words. But when the search engines find them, will users be kind enough to even read them?

it seems blogs are great for causing revolutions. They are brilliant at getting info across to the masses and among the world of the geek, they're a fantastic read. Folk like Tim Ferris and Ben Goldacre do wonders with their publishing platforms of choice, but they're serving a particular niche, a need for info from folks who actually need it.

As passive information ( i.e. Stuff that people really go out and seek ) they are superb, but in the world of business they don't seem to be so helpful. Businessmen are far too busy and from what I've seen, they don't care for blogs - in truth, they do not even know what one is.

I have now stood in front of over five hundred people this year and asked the easy question 'does any one know what a blog is?'. I've had about 10 people say they are totally sure what one is, but none of them would admit to reading them continually. Nobody got any of their business info from a blog, actually only a few folk read a sector web site with any regularity. It's depressing. Or it's an opportunity...

For us in the search site industry there is a gaping hole that wants filling, and it is a easy one - data. The businessman equipped with the information to go out and read blogs is ready to get ahead of the competition. It's a easy idea truly, but the more info a company has, the better chance they are got of beating those around them and so we have an angle with which to sell our services.

Train yourself, train your staff and learn the way to use blogs, sites and social media and you can all of a sudden gain an advantage. Likewise, we will be able to start telling folks that blogs are useful again.

Andy Calloway is the online marketing director at Calloway Green Ltd, a website design and optimisation company based in Wolverhampton in the UK. Calloway Green take fantastic website design and turn it into a marketable and usable product that will actually make you money. They specialise in Birmingham Web Design for West Midlands based organisations that are looking to sell their products to a wide audience.

We also have a full SEO Services arm that can help you get the best out of social media, the Internet and all aspect of your online marketing campaign.

Currently, we look at replacing Birmingham Advertising with Internet marketing to better push your company in front of a buying public.

Links:
Wolverhampton Web Design

SEO Web Design

Birmingham Web Design

Options for Marketing,UK SEO training,

Birmingham Advertising Options

SEO services from marketing corporations can cover such a large range of products that it's truly hard to use the shortening 'SEO' at all without backing it up with at least some reason. Some folks call it 'search engine marketing' ( which gets it's own 'SEM' moniker ) and others simply call it 'Internet marketing'. Whichever you select though, there are going to be bitching from those that think it's all just some smoke and mirrors.

It's much worse when you consider that the people we deserve to be helping the most are those that do not have a clue what we're talking about. The opening between people who know and can thus exploit their information to further their company's fortunes online and people who do not have a clue is dilating and it's happening ever faster.

It's no surprise, then, that many folk finish up wasting an awful lot of money before they all of a sudden realize they've been spending too much money on the incorrect stuff. They have acquired what they did not really need and now all they've got is a massive bill and zilch to show for it.

By way of addressing the balance, here are a few real basics you must know before spending anything...

Know your SEO company

The company doing the work are doubtful to publicize too much about the current keywords they've been working on. The reason being because others may scouse borrow their niche. It'd sound paranoid, but many corporations have fought hard and long to get their sites to number one and if someone notices that it's a lucrative market, they may try the same. This is detrimental to the SEO company and their clients.

So, you want to ask them when you go and see them and they'll be in a position to tell you about their successes, and this leads on to the next bit...

Go and see them

you should see the company doing your SEO in the flesh. Meet them and discuss your requirements. Sure there are plenty of folk looking to offer you deals where they never meet you but get you to number one and so on. But SEO is the same as any other kind of marketing and it's absolutely essential that they do it right just for you. A corporation that simply asks for a handful of keywords and then announces 'OK' isn't helping at all. In fact, the best corporations don't ask you for keywords, they may research first and test and measure. The keywords you suspect you need may not be the right ones in any way.

Adwords or Organic?

Hardest question to say anything. You probably don't need to go Ad Words because you are not going to want to spend a huge amount on PPC, but if it pays for itself and makes a profit, you'd be crazy not to. However [*COMMA] for long-term sales and a great basis in selling, you want to build up your organic listings and get to the top without paying for each click.

in summary

Your SEO company ( if they're worth their salt ) will be there to help you with all the above and will be able to offer the best SEO services for your position.

Andy Calloway is the online marketing director at Calloway Green Ltd, a website design and optimisation company based in Wolverhampton in the UK.
birmingham advertising

Birmingham Advertising

A few weeks ago the large thing in search was 'Bing', the new search engine from Microsoft which was offered as a 'Google killer'. Microsoft threw a phenomenal amount of money and resources at this search engine and the PR around it and it appeared to have an effect. Folk have been using it and reviews have been good, this is against a backdrop of 'here we go again'.

You see, when Microsoft releases something there is always a certain section of the community that will simply dismiss it without even investigating. Even when folk do look into their new technology and pass a critical eye over their products, it's often difficult for them to come to terms with the undeniable fact that they perhaps have done something right. But with Bing, things were different. It got very good reviews and folk were actually surprised, agreeably so.

Bing was a bit of a revelation. The dire results of MSN Live search put many of us off. It's tough to explain how bad the looking was, suffice to assert that when you attempted to find something, you invariably couldn't - it was frustrating to the point that although it was the default search for many new computers, it was fast modified for Google.

Bing changed all this and its new interface with those wonderful backdrops were different enough to warrant a look by folk who had been put off during the past. And the results it returned were, in some cases, more correct than Google, this was indeed something to look out for. Some were asserting that perhaps Google have got some catching up to do.

But no, you see Google are the master innovators and it appears they have been spending the last year working on a new version of their search engine that will allow them to index more pages, provide more important results and be a touch quicker. This new system is at present codenamed 'caffeine' and the results so far are quite promising.

This is all well and good, but what effect does it have on the website owner?

Well, you want to stay at the apex of search, whichever engine is being used and so you need to ensure your site and the selling of it caters for all of these different sites. This isn't a problem if you use 'white hat' or 'ethical' systems of ensuring you rank well, but it does highlight the Problems with some methodologies that have risen into favour over the last few months.

You see, as more search engines begin to bite away at Google's dominance of the market, it is unsafe to assume they all rank in the same way. It's also dangerous to assume that one strategy is any better than the others and so you must do one thing - stick to the truly simple principles of SEO, I have laid them out here:

Content - keep it topical and give info to your buyers, the info they need , not the info that forces your site to the pinnacle of the rankings.

Links - get folk to link to you and push your site round the net as much as feasible. Market, market market.

Keep it clean - don't hide text, cloak your internet site or do anything that is seen as underhand or in any way against any search engine ethics.

In short, keep it clean and it doesn't matter what the search engines do, you can always be ready to keep your great web positions.

Andy Calloway is the online marketing director at Calloway Green Ltd, a website design and optimisation company based in Wolverhampton in the UK. Calloway Green take fantastic website design and turn it into a marketable and usable product that will actually make you money.
birmingham advertising

Birmingham Advertising

Search engine marketing services from marketing firms can cover such a wide range of products that it's really hard to use the shortening 'SEO' at all without verifying it with at least some explanation. Some folks call it 'search engine marketing' ( which gets it's own 'SEM' moniker ) and others call it 'Internet selling'. Whichever you choose though, there are bound to be debates from people who think it's all just a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

What's worse is when you consider that the people we should be assisting the most are those that don't have an idea what we're going on about. The gap between people who know and can thus exploit their information to further their company's fortunes on the web and those who don't have any idea is dilating and it's occuring ever faster.

It's no surprise, then, that many people end up throwing away a lot of cash before they suddenly realize they have been spending too much money on the incorrect stuff. They've acquired what they did not really need and now all they've got is an enormous bill and nada to show for it.

By way of addressing the balance, here are a few real basics you must know before investing in anything...

Know your Advertising company

Whichever company you choose are unlikely to flaunt too much about the current keywords they have been working on. The reason being because others may thieve their niche. It would sound paranoid, but many firms have fought hard and long to get their sites to number one and if someone notices that it's a moneymaking market, they may try the same. This is detrimental to the SEO company and their customers.

So, you want to ask them when you go and see them and they'll be in a position to tell you about their successes, and this leads on to the next bit...

Go and see them

you must see the company doing your SEO in the flesh. Meet them and discuss your requirements. Sure there are masses of people looking to offer you deals where they never meet you but get you to number one for example. But SEO is just like any other kind of selling and it's absolutely essential that they do it properly just for you. An organization that simply asks for some keywords and then announces 'OK' isn't helping in any way. In truth, the best firms don't ask you for keywords, they'll research first and test and measure. The keywords you believe you want won't be the right ones in any way.

Ad words or Organic?

Hardest question to answer . You most likely do not need to go Ad Words because you're not going to want to spend a fortune on pay-per-click, but if it pays for itself and makes a profit, you would be silly not to. However, for long term sales and a great basis in selling, you need to build up your organic listings and get to the top without paying for each click.

in summary

Your SEO company ( if they're worth their salt ) will be there to help with all the above and should be able to offer the best SEO services for your budget.

Andy Calloway is the online marketing director at Calloway Green Ltd, a website design and optimisation company based in Wolverhampton in the UK.
great seo services

The rise of social networking sites during the last few years has been exceptional but many have not been able to see why given that many of the sites are very basic and simply offer techniques of communicating that folk have enjoyed for years. For some reason, people are way more inclined to send a message to somebody in a public forum that simply pick up the phone.

However looking deeper into the workings of these sites and you shortly realise why they are so tough and how they inspire debate amongst like-minded visitors.

They key is the 'social' side of their operation and to understand this, we need only look at how folk operate in actuality away from their computers.

Humans are social beings and they tend to congregate together over common themes. For this exact reason you will see folks in pubs on a friday night or at the local bingo hall or even at the theatre ; an event or common interest brings folk together. This also has a knock-on effect in that thru this common aspect in folks's lives they have got a bond.

as an example, I will not know 'Fred' other than I meet him at the local on a friday and we sit at the bar sharing stories about the past week over a pint. This may well be my only interactions with him and for the rest of the week I never speak to him.

Fred might be a roofer and this may come up in conversation. Now, on a Monday I can be at work and somebody says they are having trouble with their flat roof that desires looking at. As I know a roofer and he's now a 'friend' I will possibly put my work colleague in contact with Fred.

This is an easy example of a business network and the concept has been used for years at breakfast clubs across the country.

Social networks use precisely the same concept with folk recommending others and inviting yet others into conversations that would otherwise be private. This sharing of information spreads trust but there's also another critical knock-on effect in that folks also expect a good job thru the sharing of this trust. You are being judged by your peers.

This is a particularly powerful concept and it's one that hasn't gone unobserved by many net marketers. By utilising these networks it is completely feasible to build a following for your service or product that brings with it trust by proxy. If you do one good thing for one individual and that person passes it on, you can gain a lot of customers with no need to work at advertising.

there's also the flip-side however in that there now is such a thing as bad press. Substandard service spreads around the Internet quicker than good service in some cases and this may ruin a company's reputation in days. Now more than ever you must be careful with your external promotion and ensure you provide a consitant message to your clients and more importantly, your potential clients.

Andy Calloway is the online marketing director at Calloway Green Ltd, a website design and optimisation company based in Wolverhampton in the UK. Calloway Green take fantastic website design and turn it into a marketable and usable product that will actually make you money.
great fire safe security

A safe is a container which can be locked to prevent valuables from being lost, damaged or thieved. They are made from tricky metals like steel or iron to prevent the contents being accessed by anyone aside from the owner or those granted access. They can be locked in a number of ways and this determines the sort of safe. The conventional locking safe needs a key. Other types are, a keycode safe, which can only be opened by putting in the correct alphanumerical code. These kind of safes also permit the owner to modify the code whenever they wish. There are also biometric locks.

Safes change significantly in price . The reasons for this are the assorted levels of security and the levels of protection.

At the base level, safes protect things from theft. Moving up they then guard from fire, humidity, dust, water, chemicals and some are even bomb/ earthquake resistant. These high protection safes are given ratings. The better the rating the better it should perform. Though these ratings are offered through thorough testing each individual safe is unique and the capability is has to guard your documents or property is only ever known when it is put to the test. Hopefully that would never happen but manifestly all property should also be insured because of this.

One of the highest levels of protection is now given to information. High end safe systems that provide information protection monitor the levels of humidity, warmth and light awfully fastidiously inside the safe to ensure paperwork isn't erased, damaged or corrupted.

Safes which provide all of these features as well as being bomb or earthquake proof are commonly reserved for heads of state or state buildings where the most sensitive and significant info is held.

Frank Cassidy provides recommendation and support to customers of the Safe supermarket, a new website providing discount safes and storage equipment to companies across the UK. They focus on Phoenix Fire Safes and can supply recommendation, service and fast delivery.

Their range of Fire Safes is absolutely superb and they also offer a wide selection of security deposit safes.

A Twitter Competition to gain followers

When my partner advised running a challenge to get more folks to go to our internet site, I essentially didn't think it might work that well, I mean, who really cares about competitions these days? Well, it seems many of us do and if you can add some price to it by giving something away that people actually desire or is seen as valuable - you can truly rope in the PR and the customers.

Many firms offer free gifts in return for doing something really straightforward, but what about giving away something with business value? Well, many home businesses are struggling at the instant and as we all know, when a business is on the ropes, the first thing the owners customarily invest in is a new brand or logo, but would that essentially 'sell'?

I looked into it and it seems it works - and how!

In our case, we're offering a new trademark, fundamentally a new 'brand' and this can cost many thousands for some companies.

The service industry is a strange thing, it is unsubstantial and most costs are invisible to the purchaser with the unavoidable end result that those with tiny information think it is therefore very pricey. The news is littered with firms allocating hundreds of thousands of pounds on re-brands, who can recall 'British Telecom' changing to 'BT'?

And so it seems that a great way to supply price is to supply something that gives an unsubstantial worth.

Just removing off the 'British' has actually allowed the company to prosper in nations aside from the UK and it is now a worldwide force rather than simply a state one.

So, if you are considering of operating a competition gift, think about something which may go on more than a average personal stereo or DVD, think of something that will essentially give worth to a company far greater than the perceived cost of the service you give.

Andy Calloway is the director of SEO Coaching at Calloway Green Ltd, a web development and SEO consultancy in the West Midlands, UK.
Great web design seo

Each single week I meet people who are so excited about their new website that they can not wait to tell me all about it and how it should make them a lot of money extraordinarily swiftly. They are They're virtually jumping up and down because they've possibly been to a seminar when they were told that the best way to live the dream is to first dream it and then visualise it and think about all the stuff they can do with the cash they can earn from it. All that's necessary is good web design.

Life is destined to be great.

Honestly, life is going to explode soon due to there being so millions millions of users online and all you must do is attract a little fragment of those for your new widget to sell by the wagonload and ultimately you will be a Web Millionaire. Except it doesn't happen.

So many of us are sold the vision about SEO in such a way that they suspect it isn't difficult to do and you can suck customers to your internet site like a hoover sucks dust. E-tailing is easy, trading is simple and attracting visitors is simple, except it is not ; it's hard and it's a tough slog.

Why bother with yours? Why should they even care about yours? The answer's, they should not and so they don't.

When your website is finished it just joins a particularly giant queue and even though there are tactics you can get yourself listed quickly, these are quite complicated for the entire newbie and it's very easy to do it wrong.

So, when the site is live, there then starts a big process of what many of us call 'optimisation' and that is where us SEO type have truly upset folks. You probably believe that it's a one-step process and when it's done, you are ready to go. That is not what optimisation means at all and we should truly call it 'marketing'.

Just think contesting with thousands of people globally!

The more competition there is in your market, the longer it should take too, for instance you're not likely to beat B&Q if you're selling DIY hardware. Just face it - your site isn't going to beat any one unless you have a commitment to spending a lot of time promoting it and this is where the second problem rears it's ugly head.

They ( or we ) 'optimised' their site a month ago and it's still not found anywhere when somebody searches for it. You cannot find it anywhere at all and you're so not selling anything and so you're really hacked off.

Giving up is too simple but you will potentially do it because you can not think of any other option.

This is not just about SEO, it's about many things in life - it becomes too difficult so you walk away and blame Google or something. You almost certainly think you have been banned or Google doesn't like you or your web designer has done something wrong.

Let me just make it truly clear - if you have a new internet site and it's just been launched you're going to wait a very long time before people are finding you on Google. We guesstimate between 8-12 months before it's getting anything like the amount of traffic an ecommerce site wants to work and so you want to do something else. SEO isn't the magic bullet and so you should not rely on it at all.

You should also look at other promoting streams such as email marketing, AdWords and maybe even some of-line stuff like advertising.

Calloway Green take fantastic website design and turn it into a marketable and usable product that will actually make you money.
